Life after moving in has been a never ending house chores on weekends. This cannot be true! So I am on a mission to find ways to de-clutter and organize around the house. And one night on a youtube vortex, … Continue reading
Have you found your Signature Home Scent?
It’s that first smell when you walked in to your home. If you just moved in a new house, the natural smell of your home would probably be a mixture of paint and other building materials as your base note; building up to … Continue reading
One month update
The Frenzy
…23rd May draft Today marks our first month. And heck it was an exhausting month but at the same time very exciting. Just thinking about things to do, even at work. Yes, I have to admit, I may be meeting my deadlines at work but I wasn’t as efficient as I was a month ago. All I want to do is stay at home and decorate and clean and organize and plan for some more projects. I barely even blogged that I’ve missed documenting that beautiful window of moving to settling in. Who blogs and don’t take enough photos!? So many haul opportunities I’ve missed too. We went to stores almost everyday and picked up small things that always ends up expensive altogether.
Present (actually a week a go)
I’ve moved on a bit from that state where all you want is to stay in the house and decorate or go out and buy everything that would suit your decor. But still hasn’t move on with cleaning! It never ends haha and I will shamelessly admit that there are still mess everywhere around the house specially the hidden ones! Items still in boxes waiting have its own place. But am proud that my moving checklist is all ticked. Except the clothesline… in this cold, cold, cold Melbourne winter, no one needs frozen clothes! Change of address mission is also accomplished. We’re happy with all that for now. Landscape is still on the works but we’ll take it slowly.
Actual Present
It has been over a month now I know and this post was on draft for more than 2 weeks waiting for the perfect time to shoot photos of the home updates we did. But each weekend that I try, I clean then the day ends. We are currently busy with (yes) cleaning the house and hemming my curtains and putting up our side gate.
Mission: Change Address
We are close to our fourth week living in our new home and it’s time to change addresses! Thank goodness for online accounts, there is no need to leave home or work just to change it nor spend a few dollars to send the paper form of changing you address (for most of them at least!). The checklist below has been helpful and also this link right here! Just apply whenever applicable.
Below are the things we’ve changed online, in no particular order.
- Bank and other financial institutions (we have to personally go to the bank for the home loan)
- Superannuation accounts
- VicRoads (for those living in Victoria, this one is easier personally as they can quickly print and give you the sticker on the spot)
- Ebay account
- Paypal account
- MyGov account (as most of our ATO accounts are linked to this, some even Medicare, Centrelink, etc)
- Insurances – Health, Car, Home and Contents, etc
- Australian Electoral Commission (prepare your driver’s license)
- Mobile phone and other utility providers
- Membership cards to shops and other entities
Consider other accounts that send you a bill. Now, only thing i’m not sure about is with our council. There’s no forms or any info in regards to changing the address online so we have to call with this one. Things we still have to change are vehicle rego and home loan.
Hope all is going well with yous!
Karen
