Life after moving in has been a never ending house chores on weekends. This cannot be true! So I am on a mission to find ways to de-clutter and organize around the house. And one night on a youtube vortex, I came across people organizing and they’ve been talking about the konmari method.

Invented by Marie Kondo, this method of decluttering is based on what sparks joy. Simply put, keep things that inspires you and sparks joy. Otherwise, bin it – sell it – or give it away. It suggests that one must do it by category and not by location. Finish one it at a time, starting with all the clothes then books then documents and mementos, just so you’ll see a drastic change. In which she suggests, will leave you feeling good and that there is a higher chance not to go back to clutter again.
What interests me most is her statement (being in my never ending cleaning situation) that you have other purpose in life and that is not to clean. If you put things in order, you’ll realize what is important to you.
With those in mind and some other points I’ve picked up during this research, I challenged myself to apply it in the house. Having an 8-5 job, there is no way I can do it in one sitting or one weekend. So I’ll be doing it slowly and will post updates in a konmari method series!
Now onto decluttering…
